Summary: Unlock the secret to longevity and profound fulfillment by integrating the Japanese concept of Ikigai into your Mind-Body-Spirit triad. By aligning your inner purpose with physical biohacks like cyclical keto and cold exposure, you create a synergy that doesn’t just add years to your life, but life to your years. Discover how the 3, 6, 9 philosophy can guide your journey toward becoming a whole, resilient human being.

How’s it going, TriOneness tribe?
I’ve spent the last few years completely obsessed with a single question: Why do some people wake up with a fire in their eyes while others just drag themselves through the day?
I’ve done the personal experiments. I’ve tracked my sleep, I’ve fasted, and I’ve pushed my body. But I found that even with the most optimized biology, if you don’t have a reason to get out of bed — a “why” that vibrates in your soul — you’re just a well-oiled machine going nowhere.
That’s why I became fascinated with Ikigai. It’s a Japanese concept tied to a long, happy life, and when you stack it with our TriOneness philosophy of Mind, Body, and Spirit, the results are amazing. We aren’t just aiming for health; we are aiming for wholeness.
The Captain: Optimizing the Mind for Purpose
Your mind is the captain of your ship. If the captain is foggy, distracted, or drowning in cognitive biases, you’ll never find your Ikigai. To find your purpose, you need real mental clarity.
Sachiaki Takamiya, author of Ikigai Bio-Hacking and a proponent of natural, Japanese-rooted wellness, has written about how our mindset is a first step toward both personal and planetary health. I’ve found the best way to clear the mental clutter is a mix of ancient tradition and modern focus.
When I’m in a deep work block, I use binaural beats to lock in, and I practice ruthless “attentional hygiene” — removing the biggest distractions from my environment before I even start.

The Mental “Why”
Ask yourself: What does the world need that I am uniquely equipped to give? This isn’t just a philosophical question; it’s a biological one. When you have an answer, your brain tends to run on a different chemistry: more drive, and often less stress.
The Vessel: Powering Ikigai Through the Body
You can have the most beautiful purpose in the world, but if your body is broken, it’s hard to fulfill it. I treat food as medicine and movement as a celebration of being alive.
One of my favorite personal experiments was switching from standard high-fat living to cyclical keto. By cycling my carbohydrates, I found I could keep metabolic flexibility without the “keto flu.”
The Power of the Cold
I’m a huge believer in the Wim Hof approach. Few things align the mind and body faster than a short plunge into cold water. It pulls you straight into the present moment.

The Breath: The Wim Hof Method
I pair the cold plunge with the Wim Hof breathing method — three rounds of controlled hyperventilation, done on dry land before I get in the water. Here is the protocol:
- Rounds 1–3: 30 deep power breaths (full inhale, relaxed exhale), followed by an empty-lung hold. Recovery breath, then hold for as long as possible.
- Bonus: I personally do push-ups after the 3rd round to improve my VO2 max.
The Compass: Finding Your Ikigai (The Spirit)

The sweet spot in the middle — what you love, what you’re good at, what the world needs, and what you can be valued for — is your Ikigai. Whenever I feel off-center, I drop into a round of breathing (on dry land) to reset my nervous system.
The 3, 6, 9 Philosophy of Integration
I use these numbers as “memory anchors”:
- 3 Pillars: Mind, Body, Spirit.
- 6 Daily Rituals: Hydration, Movement, Sunlight, Connection, Nutrition, Reflection.
- 1, 3, 6, or 9-Day Challenges: Start with a short sprint to avoid burnout.
Feeding the Spirit: Nutritional Harmony

Think of your meals as a ritual. Name at least 3 things you’re grateful for before you eat to shift into “rest and digest” mode.
